Plagiarism Policy

Global Journal of Multidisciplinary Research (GJMR) maintains a strict policy against plagiarism to uphold the integrity and originality of its published research. Plagiarism, in any form, is considered unethical and unacceptable. This includes, but is not limited to, direct copying, paraphrasing without attribution, self-plagiarism, and insufficient acknowledgment of sources.

2. Screening Process

• Initial Check: All submissions to GJMR undergo a plagiarism check using reputable plagiarism detection software to ensure the originality of the content.
• Acceptable Similarity Threshold: GJMR typically requires that submitted manuscripts have a similarity index below 15%, excluding citations, references, and commonly used phrases. Manuscripts exceeding this threshold may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected based on the extent of the similarity.

3. Actions in Case of Plagiarism:

• Minor Similarity: If minor plagiarism is detected (e.g., a few copied phrases or sentences), the authors may be asked to rephrase the content and properly cite sources.
• Significant Similarity: For moderate or significant plagiarism, the manuscript will be returned to the authors for substantial revision and re-evaluation after corrective action.
• Severe Plagiarism: In cases where a large portion of the text is plagiarized, GJMR will reject the manuscript outright. The authors may also be barred from future submissions, and their institution may be notified if necessary.

4. Responsibilities of Authors:

• Authors are expected to ensure the originality of their work and appropriately cite all sources. Proper acknowledgment of prior research is required, and authors should avoid reusing their published content without permission and citation.
• Authors must provide any necessary permissions if reusing published materials, figures, or data and include appropriate citations.

5. Retraction Policy:

• If plagiarism is detected after publication, GJMR will review the case following COPE guidelines. Depending on the severity, the journal may issue a correction or retract the article, with a notice provided to the public, ensuring transparency.
